Doubling a Dollar

Our nearest Super Fresh grocery store doubles dollar coupons, in contrast to most (if not all) other local supermarkets. The cutoff is typically 99 cents for doubling purposes, so this is an intriguing development.

I now intend to use as many dollar coupons there as possible. This isn't the most convenient shop, but it is on the way to work so this knowledge could prove lucrative and efficient if planned properly.

It might also be worth a look to see if there are any other local markets that double dollar coupons. Or maybe there's a clearninghouse Web site with this information.

I took a preliminary step the other day toward getting preapproved for a mortgage, stopping in my local bank branch to see what documents I might need for the process. None, it turns out.

While there, I also stopped in the safety-deposit box and pulled my savings bonds for deposit to Treasury Direct. Now I have to photocopy them and send them in.
