Headway

Of my goals that I hoped to accomplish in the year's final week, I made some significant steps toward most. I believe this journal has kept me focused and I hope it will continue to bear fruit in the new year.

Since tomorrow will be a day of record-keeping, goal-setting and introspection, I likely won't fulfill any more of my list. But I had a good week and a good year for the most part.

Most important, my family and I are healthy and working toward the wealthy.

Before I lay out my goals for 2006, let me look back on this past week.

- House matters: I fell short of this goal, though I briefly had it on my to-do list. I decided to wait a bit longer before setting up an appointment. I am not going to rush this process in the hope of improving my leverage in negotiations.

- Treasury Direct: I printed out the forms and now I have to set about logging in the bonds and following the instructions. There is a slim chance I may do this tomorrow or tonight.

- Charitable contribution: Done. Two donations to the two channels on which we primarily watch Sesame Street.

- Repair Accord: Done, and at a decent rate.

- Boost life insurance: Nearly done. I sent in the forms with the initial payments, but I think a physical may be required.

- Goal-setting and review: I've begun some of the groundwork for this, and I hope to have a good deal finished up by early evening tomorrow.
