Miscellaneous Matters

I'm still focused on financial matters, but I haven't been able to find time to jot down many thoughts lately, with me and the baby both sick. Now that we're on the mend, I hope to get the year humming along.

So I got my electric bill today and the easy payment went up to $154 a month. A small goal for this year will be to bring that figure down, instead of up, where it has gone each of the past three years. This may not be doable if I move, and the summer here will certainly be hard, but perhaps I can eke out just enough savings the rest of the year to tick down the monthly payment.

$$$

I purchased a hand-held from Dell the other day and forgot to use a 20% coupon I had. There was a standard 15% discount, but I was really steamed about forgetting the 20% coupon. Fortunately, customer service said I would be credited for the 5% discount I missed out on.

But this illustrates my scatterbrain treatment of coupons. I need to develop a better system.
